What a cookie is, and what counts as one

The test is whether information is stored on or read from your device, not what the technology is called.
Third-party
Set by another domain whose content is embedded in a page. We avoid these by default and do not embed third-party advertising or tracking scripts.

Deleted as soon as you close the browser. Used to hold state within a single visit.
Persistent
Survive between visits until they expire or you delete them. Used to remember a preference such as your consent decision.
